2021 Audi Q2: Refreshed, Changes, Price

Audi’s already massive but still growing SUV range has permanently been under revision to keep pace with buyers’ increasing appetites. The Audi’s prototypes have become a common sight on the roads and the smallest SUV in the brand’s range the Q2 was again spotted in the disguised form signaling the arrival of the refreshed version. The smallest among Audi SUVs debuted at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show and after three model years on the market, it’s time for the mid-cycle update. The 2021 Audi Q2 is expected with light upgrades in all aspects.

Audi hasn’t yet revealed what new the refreshed Q2 will bring but the spy photos singling light styling updates usual for the mid-cycle refresh combined with the expanded color pallet. The cabin should also come with minimal design upgrades and the same infotainment configuration but with the updated tech features. The powertrain range is however expected to get a mild-hybrid treatment to improve efficiency. More details should emerge closer to mode’s arrival later in the year.

2021 Audi Q2: Design

The Audi Q2 mini SUV is yet another model in the brand’s range designed around the Volkswagen Group MQB platform. The model features bold exterior styling in try to get attention from younger buyers. With the changes expected to be applied to the 2021 Audi Q2, the model should bring its styling in line with the brand’s newer vehicles. 

The prototype versions of the next Q2 were spotted on several locations with the camouflage on the front and rear fascias. The light camo on the front and rear bumpers and around lighting units signaling subtle staying tweaks.

The model is expected to appear with revised front and rear bumpers’ style and the grille seems also to have a new mesh pattern. The updated headlights will also be the part of the mid-cycle refresh and they will come with the new LED signature elements similar to the newer vehicles in Audi’s lineup while the shape remains the same. Every Q2 is expected to come with the LED headlights.

The refreshed Q2 should also get new body color options and wheel styles ranging from 17 to 19 inches.

Interior, Equipment:

It’s also unclear yet what level of upgrades the cabin of the next 2021 Audi Q2 will get. Reports indicate that Audi Q2 won’t switch to the dual-screen layout as the brand’s fresh models and it should continue with the dashtop-mounted display. However, the refreshed Q2 should come with the wider center display option and upgraded graphics and software features. The mini Audi SUV should also receive an updated 12.4-inch Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster.

The next Q2 should also come with the fresh material options and upgraded driver-assist features.

The Audi Q2 will be available with heated exterior mirrors and seats, perforated leather upholstery, sports front seats, sports steering wheel, aluminum trim inserts, illuminated door sill, etc. The model will also come with active lane assist, park assist, high-speed automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, high beam assist, etc.

2021 Audi Q2: Powertrains

The mid-updated 2021 Audi Q2 will return with a range of powertrain options but some should get a 48-Volt mild-hybrid setup assist aimed at improved efficiency.

The engine range will include a 1.3-liter three-cylinder petrol unit with an output of around 114 hp. Another TFSI unit is a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing around 148 hp. The range-topping petrol 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine making around 296 will also be available. Buyers will also have a chance to get the Q2 with the diesel power coming from the 1.6- and 2.0-liter TDI engines.

The Q2 is also expected to get the plug-in hybrid version later in the life cycle. The battery-powered E-Tron version should appear for the Chinese market only.

2021 Audi Q2: Release, Price

The updated 2021 Audi Q2 will appear in the second half of the year and closer to the debut more precise details will also emerge. The model should come with a slightly upscaled price range. The on-sale date will be in late 2020 or early next year.

The mini Audi SUV is not expected to reach the US market soon where the Q3 model will remain the entry-level, Audi-badged SUV.
