2021 Buick Enclave: Refreshed, Changes

Buick’s largest crossover SUV on the roads, the three-row Enclave entered the current generation for the 2018 model year and after three years on the sale without significant upgrades the 2021 Buick Enclave version comes to the market in the facelifted form.

The Enclave is the brand’s rival for the model’s such as the BMW X5 and Mercedes GLE. The three-row Buick SUV is one of the roomiest in the class and comes with a long list of standard equipment. The model is also equipped with sophisticated in-car technologies including an excellent infotainment system.

The refreshed 2021 Buick Enclave should come with the usual, mid-cycle styling updates but reports suggest also a major in-cab update. There are no signs that a new powertrain option would appear although a turbocharged engine would be a welcomed upgrade.

2021 Buick Enclave: Design

The newest, second-generation Buick Enclave is based on the GM’s long-wheelbase C1XX platform version used also by the Chevy Traverse, Cadillac XT6 and GMC Acadia.

The next 2021 Buick Enclave will come in the same body shape and proportions while will receive reworked soft, body parts as evidenced by the most recent spy photos. The prototype version has front and rear sections covered with the camouflage suggesting usual mid-cycle updates.

The refreshed 2021 Buick Enclave should adopt similar styling updates as the recently, mid-updated Buick LaCrosse. That should mean a new, streamlined grille version with a new mesh pattern and winged insert. As part of the mid-cycle update, the model should also receive more modern and sleeker headlights. The cover on the front bumper suggests also the slightly altered shape of it.

The rear section of the upcoming Buick Enclave should appear with the revised-style taillights and altered tailgate trim insert. The new versions will also go on sale with the reworked rear bumper.

Interior, Equipment:

The current Buick Enclave has earned high scores for interior design and roominess. The model has a nice, curved dash and clear instrument panel. The Enclave has also one of the roomiest cabins in the class with up to 98 cubic feet for the cargo. The upper grades come also with nice trim accents.

The next 2021 Buick Enclave should reportedly appear with the altered dash style and updated tech features. The cabin should also get inspiration from the recently updated LaCrosse. The new model year should also expand the list of standard equipment.

The base Enclave will use a cloth upholstery but will also equip an 8-inch touchscreen interface, Apple Car and Android Auto, WiFi, heated seats, etc.

The upper grades will add an enhanced upholstery, ventilated seats, premium Bose sound system, attractive trim accents, more safety systems, etc.

The top-grade Avenir version gets unique exterior and interior treatment including specific 20-inch wheels and leather upholstery mixed with premium trim inserts.

The new Buick Enclave should also expand the availability of active safety systems to lower grades. The Enclave will be available with the systems such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, bird’s view camera system, blind-spot monitoring, etc.

2021 Buick Enclave: Powertrains

As the things now stand, the refreshed 2021 Buick Enclave doesn’t promise to bring the alternative powertrain to the current one. There were reports that a turbocharged four-cylinder engine could join the lineup but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Based on what we know so far, a 3.6-liter V-6 engine will likely remain the only one in the offer and mixed again with the 9-speed automatic transmission. The engine makes 310 hp and torque of 266 lb-ft. The Enclave will be available with both front- and all-wheel drive.

The Enclave will again allow up to 5, 000 pounds of towing. The model will be available with the adaptive suspension.

The EPA ratings should remain the same for the new model year. The updated Buick Enclave should manage 18 mpg city, 26 highways and 21 combined with the front-wheel drive. Configured with the all-wheel drive, the model should return 17 mpg city, 25 highways or 20 mpg combined.

2021 Buick Enclave: Release, Price

The refreshed 2021 Buick Enclave is expected to debut in the last quarter of the year with the on-sale date later in the year or early 2021. The current version starts from $40, 000 while the top-range Avenir version demands $56, 100. The refreshed Buick Enclave should go on-sale with minor price corrections.

  1. Looking to buy an Enclave but the lack of cool colors makes me hesitate in doing so.
You had a new color available for the Encore Sport but nothing else.
Please come up with a better variety.
    Thank you
