2021 Chevy Tahoe: Redesign, Changes, Price

Following the redesign of the GM’s full-size trucks is the introduction of the new-generation, truck-based SUVs. 2021 Chevy Tahoe: Design upgrades

The redesigned fourth-generation 2021 Chevy Tahoe comes on the new lightweight T1 platform which forms the base of the GM’s Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks. The new platform is an upgrade of the K2XX design used in the outgoing large SUVs and with higher use of the lightweight materials and new production technologies the new design should provide multiple benefits for the new models. The new architecture will provide better structural rigidity and weight saving around 300 pounds for the new Tahoe. The new design will also allow integration of the new technologies including electrified powertrains.

Important for the new generation Tahoe is also the transition to the independent rear suspension. The switch from the live rear axle to the multi-link rear suspension will improve the handling and ride comfort but will also open more space for the third-row passengers and cargo.

Styling:

At the styling level, the new Tahoe should also adopt a similar design as the newest half-ton Silverado. That should mean sharper front-end design with the brand’s new grille style and slim headlight units. The body shaping should also be more dynamic with benefits in aerodynamics. The model will still retain the boxy silhouette but with sharper styling elements and body lines, the new Tahoe should look more elegant and modern.

The rear section of the truck-based, full-size SUV will also show the redesigned tailgate, taillights and rear bumper.

Interior, equipment:

The new generation Tahoe should lift the level of sophistication and comfort. Without a live rear axle, passengers in the third-row get more breathing space and the cargo capacity will also level up.

The model will also get a new-generation Chevrolet infotainment system with a standard 8-inch touchscreen, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, Wi-Fi confection, etc. There is also a possibility that a larger display option will be available. The base version will also include tri-zone climate control, power driver’s seat, cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, etc. The entry-level trim will again offer active safety equipment like automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and intervention, etc.

The upper grades will switch to the leather upholstery adding also heated and ventilated seats, premium sound system, adaptive suspension, larger wheels and more. The reports suggest also a possible inclusion of the new range-topping High Country trim with the unique, premium upholstery and trim accents, more chrome outside and LED headlights, etc.

With the mentioned benefits from the use of the new platform and independent rear suspension, the new 2021 Chevy Tahoe will also improve the performance and efficiency with the new and upgraded engines as well as a new transmission system.

The model will again coordinate the engine options with the famous half-ton Silverado. There will be a 5.3-liter and 6.4-liter V-8 engine with improved fuel-saving measurements. The model could also use a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine from the new Silverado producing 310 hp. A 3.0-liter turbodiesel unit might also join the available options. There will also be a new, smooth-shifting 10-speed autonomic transmission alongside the 8-gear unit. The Tahoe will again be offered with two- and all-wheel configurations.
