2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport: Specs, PHEV, Price

The 2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport comes on the market after the thorough refresh last year. The model received about 60 percent of the parts updated with the focus on the improved interior. The Disco has the brand’s latest design language including updated infotainment and gauge displays, controllers and tech features. The recent refresh brought also the power upgrade and a mild-hybrid setup.

As for the next version, markets outside the US will get the plug-in hybrid version dubbed P300e with the new Ingenium engine under the hood and electric setup. It’s not confirmed yet would this option reach the US for the 2021 model year. The Discovery Sport should also gain new package and appearance options and there should also be new special edition models on the offer for the new model year.

The compact Land Rover Discovery Sport is stylish and practical and has a high-quality cabin. There is also plenty of cargo space but the Disco has also above-average off-road and all-weather talent. With all its good sides, the Disco is qualified to compete against some most recognizable names on the market including the Audi Q5, BMW X3, and  Mercedes GLC.

2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport: Design

Thanks to last year’s refresh, the Discovery Sport looks fresh and modern and the upcoming version won’t come with the new round of styling updates. The 2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport should, however, offer new special edition versions and new color and wheel patterns. The PHEV model won’t also look much different than the non-electric models.

The 2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport will continue to live on the recent updates until the next redesign. The model has an up-to-date exterior design with the brand’s newest styling elements. The headlights and taillights are updated last year and the model has a sculpted front bumper. The body paneling is smooth with a defined character line and swollen fender flares.

The rear looks model also and the model is available with attractive two-tone color patterns. The base version comes on the 18-inch alloy wheels and with the automatic LED headlights. The mid-range model switches to the larger 19-inch wheel while the upper grades use 20-inch units.

Interior:

The Discovery has a modern well-equipped cabin thoroughly updated last year. The next version will return with the same in-cab design with some changes in the equipment availability.

The Disco delivers elite comfort and offers various material and equipment options. The dash has a horizontal orientation with nice details and a large center display. The seats get also high points for comfort and the visibility is also good.

The Discovery Sport provides 34.6 cubic feet of the cargo space which jumps to 62.8 cubic feet the second row folded.

The base model comes with the cloth upholstery but upper trims offer leather surfaces and more premium comfort features.

Equipment:

The base 2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport comes with the cloth upholstery, dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing wipers, keyless ignition, manually adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, etc. The tech features include a 10-inch touchscreen, six speakers, USB and Bluetooth, etc. There is also an array of standard safety systems including forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist and a drowsy driver alert.

The next-level version ads leather upholstery option, power front seats, navigation, upgraded infotainment system and more.

The top grades get a digital instrument panel, front-seat memory function, Meridian premium sound system and more.
