2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC: Specs, Options, Price

The next 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC will hit the market with minimal changes. The model received some styling, performance and tech upgrades for the current model year and there will just be changes in the accessibility of some features for the next model year and new package options.

The compact Mercedes GLC is attractive inside and out but the good balance of the performance and comfort make it also appealing in this highly competitive class. The model employs the brand’s innovative MBUX infotainment system and can be had in three flavors regarding the powertrains. The base powertrain received some performance upgrades for the recent update but customers can also get the AMG-tuned versions with either turbocharged V-6 or V-8 units. The plug-in hybrid version will also be available as well as the coupe-like variant with a more aggressive profile.

With the compact GLC in the lineup, Mercedes rivals the models such as the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Jaguar F-pace, Volvo XC60, etc.

2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC: Design

Mercedes updated the styling of the GLC model for the 2020 model year and it won’t make additional changes in that regard for the 2021 version. The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC should, however, offer additional paint job options and new wheel styles.

The last year’s update brought a revised grille version and new front and rear bumpers. The part of the refresh was also the new LED headlights and taillights. With the fresh styling elements and muscular body lines, the GLC grabs attention among other vehicles on the road while it is more appealing with the coupe-like profile.

Interior, Equipment:

The attractive Mercedes GLC gets also high scores for the interior setup and available tech. Mercedes introduced the innovative MBUX platform for the recent update and the model can also be equipped with large, digital instrument cluster. The GLC impresses also with high-quality materials and attractive design.

Buyers of the compact GLC will get up to 60 cubic feet of the cargo space or nearly 20 cubes with the rear seat up. In the case of the coupe version, the sportier appearance costs a few cubes of the cargo space. The GLC Coupe provides up to 49.4 cubic feet of cargo with rear seats folded.

As for the available equipment, Mercedes will be generous from the base version while more money spent will bring additional premium features. Every GLC will include a large 10.3-inch infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility. The base equipment will also cover the heated and power front seats, a power liftgate, synthetic leather upholstery, LED headlights, etc. There will also be some active safety system available from the base version including automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring.

With more money spent, customers will get things such as the leather upholstery, heated rear seats, panoramic sunroof, cooled front seats, wireless charging, Burmester sound system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and more active safety systems.

If that is not enough, customers can switch to the AMG-tuned versions. The AMG GLC 43 packs a 3.0-liter turbotrain V-6 engine under the hood which is good for 385 hp and torque of 384 lb-ft.
