The next 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC will hit the market with minimal changes. The model received some styling, performance and tech upgrades for the current model year and there will just be changes in the accessibility of some features for the next model year and new package options.

The compact Mercedes GLC is attractive inside and out but the good balance of the performance and comfort make it also appealing in this highly competitive class. The last year’s update brought a revised grille version and new front and rear bumpers. The part of the refresh was also the new LED headlights and taillights. With the fresh styling elements and muscular body lines, the GLC grabs attention among other vehicles on the road while it is more appealing with the coupe-like profile.

The attractive Mercedes GLC gets also high scores for the interior setup and available tech. Mercedes introduced the innovative MBUX platform for the recent update and the model can also be equipped with large, digital instrument cluster. The GLC impresses also with high-quality materials and attractive design.

Buyers of the compact GLC will get up to 60 cubic feet of the cargo space or nearly 20 cubes with the rear seat up. In the case of the coupe version, the sportier appearance costs a few cubes of the cargo space. The GLC Coupe provides up to 49.4 cubic feet of cargo with rear seats folded.

As for the available equipment, Mercedes will be generous from the base version while more money spent will bring additional premium features. Every GLC will include a large 10.3-inch infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility. The base equipment will also cover the heated and power front seats, a power liftgate, synthetic leather upholstery, LED headlights, etc. There will also be some active safety system available from the base version including automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring.

With more money spent, customers will get things such as the leather upholstery, heated rear seats, panoramic sunroof, cooled front seats, wireless charging, Burmester sound system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and more active safety systems.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC will again be available in many flavors regarding the performance and efficiency.

The base version will repeat a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine combined with the smooth 9-speed automatic transmission. The engine received the power upgrade for the recent refresh and can deliver 255 hp and torque of 273 lb-ft.

If that is not enough, customers can switch to the AMG-tuned versions. The AMG GLC 43 packs a 3.0-liter turbotrain V-6 engine under the hood which is good for 385 hp and torque of 384 lb-ft. This version comes also with a sport-tuned air suspension and has also upgraded transmission and exhaust system.

The AMG GLC 63 relies on the 4.0-liter turbocharged V-8 engine to get 469 hp and torque of 479 lb-ft. This version includes also a variable torque distribution all-wheel-drive system, a limited-slip differential and upgraded brakes.

Buyers in the US will also get the plug-in hybrid variant of the model. The plug-in hybrid GLC 350e uses the same, base turbo-4 engine and transmission system but adds an electric motor for the combined output of 315 hp.

Outside the US, the Mercedes GLC will be available with even more powertrain options including diesel units.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC will hit the market in the last quarter of 2020. The base version should again demand around $43, 000. The coupe-style version should cost from about $51, 000.
