2022 Dodge Durango Gets Updates, But Durango SRT is Facing Limited Production

The all-new 2022 Dodge Durango will once again arrive with mid-cycle refreshments. The 2021 model got some dramatic upgrades so next Durango will obtain numerous minor changes. For a start, this SUV will gain visual improvements, something this model needed. The interior should gain more standard features and some new systems.

Moreover, a new display is a possibility for 2022MY. Changes are not drastic, we don’t expect further upgrades. However, the Durango SRT Hellcat variant with over 700 horsepower is happening. Both models will hit the dealerships in the second half of 2021.

2022 Durango Redesign

The forthcoming 2022 Dodge Durango will introduce a mid-cycle facelift. As we said, the current model got some serious improvements, so the 2022MY is mostly a carryover. Luckily, the exterior design will get at least some improvements. That includes cosmetic upgrades on all trim levels, which is great. Dodge will introduce new exterior paints, new optional wheels, and small changes on the front fascia.

The 2022 Durango will also offer revised taillights and the rear bumper is slightly more aggressive. To the sides, this SUV won’t change at all. Some cues are borrowed from the Charger Widebody model, including running lights and hood design. As for the SRT models, new air intakes and rear spoiler are reportedly in the works.

Interior Changes

The cabin of the 2022 Dodge Durango won’t introduce design changes. Instead, Dodge opted for technology updates exclusively. As we said, all trim levels are updated and that is great to hear. For a start, the new 10.1-inch touchscreen will be in the offer. On top of that, the next-gen Uconnect5 infotainment system will become available too.

In our opinion, this is the biggest upgrade for 2022MY. Durango offers a lot of trim levels and some of them are premium and luxury. Upper trims are equipped with leather upholstery, larger displays, and more standard features.

Dodge Durango Specs

The upcoming 2022 Dodge Durango won’t get any sort of improvement under its bonnet. That means the standard Durango comes with a 3.6-liter V6 gasoline engine. This unit is capable of producing 295 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, Durango provides solid fuel economy ratings with 22 mpg combined using the rear-wheel-drive setup.

If you want more power, a well-known 5.7-liter V8 gasoline provides 380 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Unfortunately, this model offers only 18 mpg combined. A new eTorque mild-hybrid system is still just a rumor.
