2022 Ford Bronco: Hybrid and Raptor Variants in the Works

This model should hit the dealerships in the second quarter of 2021, and we have more than enough information about the new Bronco. Like any other manufacturer, Ford also plays a vital role in the green revolution. Basically, every new model offers some sort of electrification, and Bronco will be no different.

Moreover, Bronco will get famous Raptor treatment, and even the pickup truck variant is reportedly in the works. Obviously, the Blue Oval manufacturer plans to make a complete Bronco family that offers both SUVs and pickup trucks. The expectations are huge, and here’s everything we know about this SUV.

2022 Bronco Exterior and Interior

So far, we have heard a lot of rumors regarding the new 2022 Ford Bronco. Its design was a complete mystery for a long time. However, things are much clearer now. The Bronco SUV will ride on the same platform that underpins the Ranger mid-size truck. Like Jeep Wrangler, Bronco will offer both two-door and four-door variants. Moreover, Ford will provide removable doors, roof, and much more. The design looks completely new and very modern for an off-road SUV such as Bronco.

On the inside, the upcoming 2022 Ford Bronco will look unique and modern. There will be many trim levels, and the base trim will offer more than enough standard equipment. Moreover, comfort is excellent, and the cabin is generally very practical. Bronco will provide a spacious interior, although we don’t know everything about this model, including touchscreen options.

Numerous Engine Options

The forthcoming 2022 Ford Bronco will be very similar to the Ford Ranger pickup truck. That includes the same platform and probably the same powertrain options. For a start, a 2.3-liter EcoBoost is a likely candidate that can also be found in the Ford Focus RS model. This engine generates 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Ford will offer its ten-speed automatic transmission, but a manual gearbox is also a great possibility.

Optionally, Bronco will offer a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and hybrid powertrain choices. The potent V6 is capable of producing 335 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. As for the Bronco Hybrid model, it will combine a 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine with an electric motor. Total output will be rated from 350 hp to 400 hp.

2022 Ford Bronco Raptor

The all-new 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor will also hit the dealerships at some point next year. We don’t know if Ford will call it Raptor or Warthog. Both names are a possibility. From what we heard, the V8 engine won’t power the new Bronco Raptor. Instead, this high-performance variant will probably introduce one of the EcoBoost V6 engines.

The most likely candidate is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with 400 horsepower. The second likely outcome is a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that delivers 450 horsepower. The exterior will look more aggressive and sportier. However, the interior will get the same design, but we expect a slightly better use of high-quality materials.

2022 Ford Bronco Price, Release Date

The base two-door Bronco SUV will cost around $28,000. However, the 2022 Ford Bronco will offer plenty of trim levels, so the price will perfectly reflect the level of luxury. For example, the First Edition model will cost $60,000, and Bronco Raptor will cost slightly above that. The sales will begin at some point in 2021, possibly in the second quarter of the year.
