The all-new 2022 Hyundai Tucson is getting a complete redesign. Based on the Vision T concept, Tucson will wear new styling that looks bolder and more modern. It is a new chapter for this small crossover-SUV and Hyundai will introduce so many changes. The concept was shown with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. However, Tucson will offer a hybrid system in its upper trim levels.
On top of that, the famous N Line variant is also in the works. As before, Tucson will continue to rival models such as VW Tiguan, Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5, and Honda CR-V. The price will slightly increase and Tucson will hit the dealerships in the coming months.
2022 Tucson Redesign
The upcoming 2022 Hyundai Tucson will introduce a brand-new design that looks more modern and bolder. The complete vehicle has been reshaped and it now offers bulging fenders, new wheels, shorter overhangs, and different roofline. Thanks to that, the new Tucson looks more rugged and it also wears more muscles. Some parts will wear hard edges so the design is sharper and similar to Lamborghini Urus.
The Tucson crossover-SUV is unique, it comes with more chrome materials and new exterior features. The front fascia offers a larger grille and a new set of headlights. Now, the front section will look closer to models such as Palisade and Santa Fe. The rear section is even more interesting, with full-width taillights and a new spoiler.
Interior Overhaul
The interior of the 2022 Hyundai Tucson will also suffer major changes. For a start, the dash is redesigned and it looks simplistic. It comes with a digital gauge display and a push-button shifter. Nissan will also add various touch-sensitive controls and a new infotainment system. Many things are taken from the Palisade SUV. Moreover, models such as Sonata and Elantra will offer similar cabin design. New Tucson is smartly arranged and Nissan will provide more high-quality materials.
The interior room is generous and slightly better than before. Thanks to that, Tucson comes with a more spacious cargo area and better rear-seat legroom. This crossover will offer a standard 8.8-inch touchscreen and optional 10.3-inch unit. Nissan plans to deliver more standard equipment and improved safety ratings.
Hybrid Powertrain Specs
Once again, the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson will arrive with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. This unit comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel-drive. However, a 1.6-liter turbo-four engine will be mated to hybrid and plug-in hybrid systems. The Tucson Hybrid is a huge step forward for Nissan.
This model will generate 226 horsepower and a standard all-wheel-drive setup. The plug-in hybrid Tucson will provide around 28 miles of all-electric driving range. Moreover, the N Line variant will be available as well and it will produce up to 300 horsepower.
2022 Hyundai Tucson Release Date, Price
We are still waiting for the Japanese automaker to release all of the details. From what we know, the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson will cost $25,000. On the other hand, sporty N Line Tucson will cost around $35,000. The sales will begin in the first quarter of 2021, this April or May.
