The all-new 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is coming to the markets in a one-year time. This SUV is still in the concept stage. As you know, transforming the concept into a production model is hard and manufacturers are usually opting for a slightly different approach. Grand Wagoneer will be one of those models that will have to depart from the original idea.
Some features will be different, but we will get to that in a minute. This model is making a return and everything looks very promising. It is a model that could change the world, in our opinion. The concept looks exciting, along with the teasers Jeep has for us.
Headlights Will Be Different
The Grand Wagoneer concept was presented with a lot of interesting features. However, some parts of the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will have to change. For a start, Matrix headlights won’t happen. The concept was shown with the familiar seven-slot grille and vertical tiny LEDs between slats. It looks cool and old-school. The “Dot Matrix” effect won’t be available as we saw on the latest test mule. Moreover, the full-width LED bar seems to be removed as well.
On the other hand, we don’t know how the front fascia will exactly look like. Right now, we can confirm that you should forget the concept’s Dot Matrix LEDs. Another interesting cue from the concept is the teak headlight surroundings. It is a premium approach that adds a unique look to the front fascia. However, this is another thing that won’t happen, but we still hope for Jeep to surprise us with something innovative.
Interior Won’t Offer So Many Screens
The interior of the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is equally important as the exterior design. The concept comes with five screens, which is a very interesting setup. Jeep has an idea where one screen replaces the instrument panel, the second screen is for an operating system, the third one is for climate controls. If you add two displays for the kids in the back, you will get five screen options.
This is very unlikely to happen, for a couple of reasons. Instead, Jeep will surely opt for a more traditional approach, probably with the two displays. Imagine the price of an SUV that offers five standard touchscreen options. That’s just crazy.
2022 Grand Wagoneer Specs
This is perhaps the only category where Jeep refused to provide more details. The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will use the same platform as the regular Wagoneer SUV. It is a body-on-frame structure and even the Ram 1500 pickup truck is using it. Thanks to that, we believe the Grand Wagoneer model will deploy familiar V6 and V8 gasoline powertrain options.
A 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 is another possibility, but nothing is official yet. However, the highlight will be its plug-in hybrid variant. Some reports are predicting a dual-motor setup, borrowed from the Chrysler Pacifica minivan. This configuration combines the hybrid setup with the potent V6 gasoline engine.
2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Launch Date
The forthcoming 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is yet to be unveiled. Jeep will present its new three-row SUV this summer. This means the sales will probably begin in the first quarter of 2022. The price is not available yet.
