A mid-cycle upgrade has just taken place on the new 2023 BMW X3 prototype. We can easily spot some modifications at first glance and the new X3 SUV will get stylistic changes on both front and back fascia. The SUV crossover is one of BMW’s most popular models at the moment.
Besides exterior changes, X3 will obtain important interior updates as well. On the other hand, things under the hood won’t change, although BMW could introduce minor mechanical changes. Of particular interest, the current BMW X3 has sold since 2018, and sales in the U.S. have broken out last year with around 60,000 vehicles sold out. Next year the new X3 will arrive with a small jump in terms of price.

The latest spy images of the 2023 BMW X3 are showing this SUV with a redesigned front and back fascia. For a start, it seems like the front fascia will get more upgrades than the rear section. The X3 still overlooks the front, with a sleek grille, smaller headlights, and updated fog lights. It seems that the grille is also somewhat wider than before.
The BMW X3 is also available with the same formed taillights on the back, but the bumper has minor modifications with two exhaust systems. The high-performance X3 M variant will also introduce the same exterior upgrades. This model is sportier, it comes with a more athletic stance and more aggressive bodywork.
Cabin Design
The upcoming 2023 BMW X3 is also getting some updates inside the cabin. Sadly, not one single picture of the cabin is visible. We heard a lot of gossips about interior changes, but we don’t expect such dramatic changes. This model will bring more conveniences and driver support. This means each trim level will gain the same updates. Some other reports are predicting a larger infotainment display, which is an interesting speculation.
The rumored 10.25-inch touchscreen is reportedly in the works and it will be offered as standard. New optional packages will certainly happen and BMW should also offer some new and optional amenities. As before, the X3 SUV will provide a lot of luxury. That includes leather upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, and new driver-assistance systems.
X3 SUV Offers Numerous Powerful Engine Options
In terms of performance, the new 2023 BMW X3 SUV will most likely retain the current engine lineup. Still, this model offers a lot of powertrain options, so this isn’t a bad thing after all. The sDrive30i model deploys a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine with 248 hp. On the other hand, the M40i variant offers a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 355 hp and 370 lb-ft of torque.
We like the xDrive30e version, which comes with a hybrid powertrain. This model generates 288 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. It is also the most efficient powertrain in the lineup. Lastly, X3 M is a high-performance variant, developing up to 473 horsepower or 503 horsepower. No matter which engine you opt for, BMW offers an eight-speed automatic transmission.
2023 BMW X3 Release Date, Price
The upcoming 2023 BMW X3 will hit the dealerships later next summer. As we said, the price will slightly increase, so the new model will cost around $43,500. The X3 SUV will rival other luxury models in the segment, including Mercedes-Benz GLC and Audi Q5.
