2023 BMW X5 M Spied Wearing Facelift

The upcoming 2023 BMW X5 M is in the works. This high-performance SUV has been spied for the first time. Like the regular X5, the X5 M will gain the same visual updates. The result is truly impressive. The manufacturer will provide another mid-cycle facelift, so the changes are not so significant. On the other hand, we expect to see a surprise or two, once the camouflage comes off.

We don’t know everything about this model yet. However, many reliable reports are suggesting new infotainment and various upgrades inside the cabin. The X5 M is a very powerful SUV, producing 600 horsepower. Thanks to that, there won’t be any sort of change under the hood. The sales will begin later next year, and here’s everything you need to know.

2023 X5 M Spy Shots

During testing, a new prototype of the facelifted 2023 BMW X5 M was seen. We originally saw the updated SUV four months ago, but it retained the identical body as the previous model, but for a pair of distinctive headlights. On the other hand, this test SUV features a redesigned front fascia that has been camouflaged to conceal some of the new design elements.

The current model’s front appearance is characterized by two enormous kidney grilles, a secondary grille positioned lower on the bumper, and two large intakes on either side. According to these spy pictures, the revised X5 M will have the same grilles and air intakes but will have a slightly different form. This might also include some minor changes to the kidney grille, but they will almost definitely not expand in size to the extent that the current X3 M and X4 M variants.

On top of that, this test car is equipped with temporary headlights with tinted lenses. We don’t mind their appearance, but this is not the final product. Interestingly, BMW hasn’t covered the rear of the SUV with camouflage, but we’d be shocked if the upcoming model doesn’t have a new rear bumper and revised taillights.

Interior Upgrades

BMW will update the inside of the facelifted X5 and X5 M variants. Thanks to that, the most noticeable difference will be the addition of a new digital instrument cluster and infotainment display, similar to the all-electric iX. The remainder of the 2023 BMW X5 M will likely remain mostly the same, with the exception of some updated switchgear.

As before, the cabin is full of premium stuff and luxury. On top of that, the X5 M variant looks sportier than the regular X5 SUV. We expect to see new driver-assistance features, improved safety, and much more.

X5 M SUV Provides a Lot of Power

Nothing will change under the hood. The forthcoming 2023 BMW X5 M will retain the existing 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine. However, the latest reports are predicting a bit more punch. The current model develops up to 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, the X5 M Competition variant boasts 617 horses. And while the hybrid powertrain will be in use, the X5 M version won’t offer any sort of electrification.

2023 BMW X5 M Release Date and Price

The all-new 2023 BMW X5 M will hit the dealerships at some point during 2022. Most likely, this high-performance SUV will go on sale in the second half of the year. The base X5 SUV starts at about $60,000, but the X5 M version will surely cost around $100,000 or even above that.
