Following the latest leaks, we now have our first look at render images of the new 2023 BMW X8 SUV. The new flagship SUV has been rumored for years, and it was recently announced publicly by a German carmaker. It is expected that the new model would be constructed at the Spartanburg factory and introduced at the end of 2022. The same plant also produces models such as BMW X6 and BMW X7.
The new renderings are intriguing as it seems like the X8 SUV will slightly depart from the rest of the lineup. It has new split LED headlights, a polarizing appearance, and a style that is akin to the brand-new BMW iX.
BMW X8 Exterior Design
The upcoming 2023 BMW X8 was recently spotted testing, and we now have our first glimpse at its renderings. To begin with, the X8 model appears to be shorter than the X7 sibling. It does, however, have a more aggressive look due to a huge grille treatment and thinner headlamps and taillights. It also includes a new quad exhaust and 21-inch wheels. The carmaker is yet to announce official details, but it seems like the X8 model will depart from other BMW models.
Interior Features
The next 2023 BMW X8 may have the same opulent interior as the iX variant, with lots of capacity across two rows of seats. Many people assume that the automaker will move the second-row pushback further back to provide extra legroom. In general, the X8 SUV will become a flagship model, combining many styling cues with one of the market’s most finished sedans, the BMW 7 Series.
That doesn’t mean it won’t retain some of its own distinctiveness. We also anticipate that the future model will include numerous driver assistance capabilities as well as amazing optional packages.
What About Performance?
We don’t know what engines will power the new 2023 BMW X8. There are many rumors flying about right now. However, a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 and a plug-in hybrid system is the most likely outcome. This PHEV setup is similar to the one seen in the future BMW XM.
Many people believe that this engine will be able to produce 750 horsepower. The base engine will most likely be a 3.0-liter turbo-six developing around 380 horsepower. We also expect BMW to use a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. The BMW X8, unlike some other models, will have a standard AWD configuration. On top of that, the X8 M variant will be in production as well.
2023 BMW X8 Release Date, Price
The forthcoming 2023 BMW X8 will most likely go on sale in the last quarter of 2022. This model will borrow aggressive styling from the iX model and it will also offer premium interior design. The price is not available at the moment. However, with so much power and luxury, this model won’t come cheap. Many experts believe the X8 will cost around $100,000.
