According to recent reports, the next-generation 2023 Ford Edge will debut next year. The second generation was introduced in 2015, and the 2023MY is expected to feature significant advancements. Surprisingly, the 2022 Edge already features several changes, including a larger touchscreen for the infotainment system.
We should anticipate numerous improvements to the new Edge. This update introduces new styling, cabin, and powertrain configurations. Regrettably, we will have to await official confirmation from the Detroit-based manufacturer. The new Ford Edge goes on sale next summer, and we’ve compiled a list of everything you need to know about this modern SUV.
Ford Edge Exterior Redesign
The upcoming 2023 Ford Edge is a fully revamped model. The next-gen Edge is scheduled to enter manufacturing in the coming weeks. Edge will continue to be a sleek and sophisticated SUV with a wealth of features. The exterior will be upgraded in the near future. Furthermore, the front fascia has been completely overhauled, and new headlights have been added. Additionally, the grille is spanking new and gorgeous. A new platform is in development as well.
The vehicle’s size will almost certainly increase, but not substantially. The goal is to create an SUV that is wider and more stable. We also anticipate a new set of wheels and paint jobs. As you know, Carbonized Gray and Lithium Gray paints are already available. The Edge 2023 will now be available in a wider variety of colors, but some current colors will remain available.
Interior Gains New Look
The interior of the 2023 Ford Edge will receive some significant upgrades. Despite its new architecture and expanded dimensions, the Edge will continue to be a five-seat SUV. All passengers, however, will benefit from additional shoulder room. Edge will continue to provide the highest quality materials and comfort. We do not yet know the extent of the cabin alterations.
Ford is likely to update the inside design. Moreover, the 2022MY will get a 12-inch display for the infotainment system. We do not anticipate this item to have more screens. Whatever the case may be, new color schemes and features are on the horizon.
Hybrid Powertrain is Still Not Official
The 2023 Ford Edge won’t introduce upgrades in terms of the powertrain lineup. To begin, a 250-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine returns as standard. A Front-wheel-drive system is used on this engine, and the advantages are spectacular. However, if you require additional power, the Ford Edge ST is the model for you.
This model is using a familiar 2.7-liter V6 gasoline engine. It will develop up to 335 horsepower and it comes with a standard all-wheel-drive setup. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, but the ST comes equipped with paddle shifters. The Edge Hybrid is still a rumor. According to reports, this version will include a bigger hybrid system than the Escape Hybrid. This results in increased power but decreased fuel efficiency compared to the Escape model.
2023 Ford Edge Price, Release Date
The approaching 2023 Ford Edge will have a starting price of approximately $34,500. Ford intends to debut its new SUV next summer. The Blue Oval is yet to reveal additional details, including the Edge SUV’s hybrid variant. Interestingly, you may find a couple of rumors about the Ford Edge and Lincoln Nautilus models ceasing manufacture. Naturally, this will not occur.
