The South Korean automaker just announced the arrival of the new 2023 Kia Sorento. This vehicle is quite competitive in its class, offering nearly the same level of comfort as family crossovers such as the Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander SUVs.

However, things continue to improve as you move up the trim levels. The manufacturer provides four powerplant configurations beneath the hood. The four-cylinder, the turbo-four engine, the conventional hybrid engine, and the plug-in hybrid engine.

The forthcoming 2023 Kia Sorento is about to deliver some improvements. The new model will roll on the new platform, and its chassis will have a four percent increase in tensile strength over the previous model. Literally, you can upgrade to the turbo version of this engine, which produces 280 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, there are two hybrid configurations.
The first is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with a 44-kW electric motor producing a total 226 horsepower. The Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) model is all-new and is available with a 1.6-liter inline-4 engine and a 66.9-kW electric motor. This combination produces 261 horses. Kia indicated that the PHEV model would run entirely on electricity for around 30 miles before switching to the gas engine.
2023 Kia Sorento Release Date, Price
The future 2023 Kia Sorento is expected to debut early next year, with refreshments on both ends. Additionally, there are four engine options. The Sorento model will start at $30,000 for the base model and reach the mid-$40,000 range when fully loaded.
