The future 2023 Kia Soul will get a revamped look to compete with competitors like the Nissan Kicks and Honda Element. This beautiful subcompact crossover SUV is also one of the most popular in its class thanks to its proportions.
The Soul model features an interesting design, a boxy shape, and a surprising amount of capacity for four people. In addition, the new SUV has a large cargo room for storing its goods. It comes standard with a powerful gasoline engine, but Kia also provides an alternative EV variant. According to Kia, the new version will be available around this time next year.
Kia Soul Exterior
The recently captured prototype has a boxy but charming appearance. The manufacturer intends to improve the appearance of this model by adding small cosmetic changes to the front end by 2023. Kia will add more slim LED headlamps and some dramatic character lines to complete the design. They will also keep the same doors and rear hatch openings to make loading cargo and people easier.
The 2023 Kia Soul will get new wheels, while higher-grade models will get more options. The South Korean manufacturer combined a distinguishing badge with the Kia insignia, which has expanded throughout the Kia lineup in the United States. The back remains the same design, although we can expect some slight changes.
Interior Changes
The cabin of the next 2023 Kia Soul is incredibly modern and spacious for such a compact SUV. This type features a boxy appearance and a spacious cabin with lots of room for passengers and baggage. The Soul model can comfortably seat four persons. The luggage compartment in the back has a capacity of 24.4 cubic feet, which may be increased to 62.4 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded flat.
The LX trim level comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, USB ports, and Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. Kia also includes cool safety aids, and we also expect to see even more features once this SUV arrives.
What About Engine Specs?
The upcoming 2023 Kia Soul will be available with two powertrain options. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 148 horsepower and 131 lb-ft of torque is standard. According to Kia, even the entry-level model has a powerful engine capable of daily driving and highway passing. The more powerful engine is a 1.6-liter turbo-four that is offered as an option for the Turbo model. This alternative engine generates 200 horsepower, significantly improving performance.
The base engine is coupled to a standard CVT automatic transmission, which smoothly sends power to the front wheels. The turbo engine, on the other hand, comes with a seven-speed automatic transmission with fast shifts. Unfortunately, the Kia Soul does not yet come with an all-wheel drive. Lastly, there is the Soul EV model. This all-electric variant provides around 250 miles of driving range on a single charge.
2023 Kia Soul Price, Release Date
The price of the base 2023 Kia Soul will start at about $20,000. On the other hand, the Turbo trim level will cost closer to $30,000 and Soul EV over $30k. The sales will begin later next year, probably in the fall of 2022.
