2023 Mazda CX-60 is Coming to Australia

The brand-new 2023 Mazda CX-60 is coming to the markets. However, while the CX-50 SUV is heading to the United States, the new CX-60 will be available in Australia instead. Mazda is confusing us all right now, but this is the latest info we have. Anyway, the Mazda CX-60 will be a premium five-seat crossover. It will arrive by the end of 2022 and this is official.

On the other hand, some other things are still quite a mystery. That, of course, includes the powertrain options. However, there is a good chance that the CX-60 model will arrive with the plug-in hybrid variant. The first photos are here, so let’s see what Mazda plans to do with the new crossover.

Leaked Exterior Design

The new 2023 Mazda CX-60, which will have rear- or all-wheel drive, an inline-six engine, and be here in 2022, has been spotted completely unhidden. It looks like two CX-60 models are being filmed on a road in Japan. It’s a lot bigger than the CX-5 model, but it doesn’t have very different styling. It looks like a CX-5, but Mazda’s shield grille is more squared off. A BMW-style cutout is also in the bumper.

On top of that, the red CX-60 appears to be a sporty version, based on the lack of chrome accents. If you look closely, you can see how the beltline rises quickly at the C-pillar again, just like on the CX-5. In the video, we don’t get a look at the back of the CX-60. We don’t think it will be very different from Mazda’s other SUVs. It’s likely that closer, better-quality photos will show off the new CX-60’s different proportions better.

Interior Details

The upcoming 2023 Mazda CX-60 will have a more modern look than the current lineup of the brand’s SUVs. Passengers can expect a very comfortable cabin that can seat up to five. With a 10.25-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cloth seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, the CX-60 is going to be a well-equipped SUV.

If you buy a higher-end trim, you’ll get things like a power sunroof, a bigger screen, and Bose sound system. Carbon Edition should also be available, with a more athletic interior that has a lot of black elements in it. While this is not official, the CX-60 model should also offer an optional third row of seats.

Mazda CX-60 Will Offer Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain

Under the hood, there is a good chance to see some sort of plug-in hybrid setup. Of course, the 2023 Mazda CX-60 will offer traditional combustion engines as well. Many predict the standard engine will be a 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit with almost 190 horsepower.

The optional 2.5-liter turbo-four engine should be available as well, producing over 250 horsepower. The CX-60 model will provide a standard rear-wheel-drive system and optional all-wheel-drive configuration. More details will become available in the coming weeks.
