According to the latest reports, the all-electric 2023 Subaru Solterra will be available next year. If you haven’t heard, Subaru presented this attractive model a few months ago, and we’ve finally obtained official details and photos. The next SUV boasts an enticing coupe-like form and clean lines.
According to what we know, the Solterra will rival other upcoming all-electric crossovers and SUVs, including Ford Mustang Mach-E. In order to build a new Solterra model, Subaru teamed up with Toyota in building a new platform. The same architecture will underpin the Toyota bZ4X model.
Exterior Design
At first glance, the all-new 2023 Subaru Solterra resembles the incoming Toyota bZ4X. According to several rumors, both models will have many similarities, including the use of the same platform. Subaru and Toyota collaborated on the Solterra model’s architecture, and we anticipate that the same platform will support future brand vehicles as well.
The Solterra is stunning, and it will be visually and mechanically similar to the Toyota bZ4X, which is expected to launch later this year. It will, however, have a distinct style motif in order to attract more fans. Overall, expect it to be unveiled in its entirety over the next few weeks. Nissan offers standard 18-inch wheels, while the 20-inch rims will be optional. Smaller wheels will provide a better driving range.
Subaru Solterra Interior Features
The upcoming 2023 Subaru Solterra will offer a lot of luxury inside the cabin. For a start, this crossover comes with a high-mounted digital gauge cluster. Furthermore, it also provides a large infotainment touchscreen. An elevated center console is also available, looking like a traditional rotary shift knob. The panoramic sunroof is also on offer and Nissan did a good job with larger side glass.
The Solterra model is full of modern textures and it looks very modern and pleasing. Of course, this crossover will provide smart storage spaces and around 30 cubic feet of the cargo area. Tech-wise, Solterra delivers a 12.3-inch touchscreen, remotely controlled HVAC system and the latest driver-assistance aids.
Power, Driving Range, Charging
The 2023 Subaru Solterra is an all-electric crossover that comes with a standard AWD system. This means the Solterra model will utilize a pair of motors. Thanks to that, this model will produce 215 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. According to Nissan, the vehicle’s power will depend on the drive mode. The Solterra crossover will offer four modes: Normal, Eco, Power, and X-Mode. The last one is perfect for slippery conditions.
Interestingly, Solterra will be an off-road capable model with 8.3 inches of ground clearance. A 72.8-kWh battery pack is available, providing 228 miles of driving range. As for the charging, a 6.6-kWh charger will take around nine hours to fully recharge the battery. On the other hand, a 100-kW DC fast-charger will repel your batter from 0 to 80 percent in less than an hour.
2023 Subaru Solterra Price, Release Date
The brand-new 2023 Subaru Solterra will start at around $40,000 or slightly above that. There should be three trim levels to choose from and the sales will begin in the first quarter of 2023.
