The approaching 2024 Honda Passport will gain a couple of mild improvements. This popular mid-size crossover SUV will probably arrive later this summer, and it will cost slightly more than the outgoing model. The Passport model is a two-row SUV, with room for five passengers. It has four trim levels, a solid V6 engine, and a comfortable interior.
It is a model that comes with a tradition, as it was first introduced in 1994. However, the current generation is on the road since 2019. If you are looking for a spacious two-row SUV with lots of safety features, good towing capacity, and a high level of comfort, the Passport might be the answer.
Honda Passport Exterior Refresh
The 2024 Honda Passport will introduce a couple of novelties. A boxier and more robust design was introduced with the 2022 redesign. Therefore, we do not expect changes in this area. On the other hand, new exterior elements are on the way.
For a start, the premium Black Edition should be introduced. Additionally, Honda will also upgrade the TrailSport variant with more off-road gear. Finally, there could be new color choices. Mechanically, the Passport model will remain intact. Still, a couple of visual improvements should be more than enough.
Interior Changes
The interior of the 2024 Honda Passport could gain one or two significant improvements. The cabin layout will largely remain. Since the platform is unchanged, the interior room is the same as in the outgoing model. Honda plans to deliver more upscale materials, new technology package, and one brand-new interior color scheme. Still, don’t expect a major overhaul yet.
This two-row model offers room for five passengers, and it is classified as a mid-size SUV. The base trim level continues to offer a standard 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and numerous USB ports. However, upper trim levels are equipped with leather seats, a premium sound system, Wi-Fi, a moonroof, and ambient lighting.
AWD Is Standard From Now On
In terms of performance, the 2024 Honda Passport continues its journey with the 3.5-liter V6 gas engine. This powertrain is capable of producing 280 hp and up to 262 lb-ft of torque. Indeed, it is an aging unit, so replacement is not that far. However, the 2024 Passport won’t have a new engine option. On top of that, the same 9-speed automatic transmission remains. The ride quality is more than solid, while the transmission acts very quiet and smooth.
Honda will reportedly deliver a standard AWD system to all trim levels, which is not official yet. The V6 engine gets 19 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway. It is about the average fuel economy rating for the mid-size segment. Lastly, the Passport SUV has a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. Expect further improvements in the next year or two.
2024 Honda Passport Price and Release Date
The next 2024 Honda Passport will receive a small price increase, so expect a starting price of about $41,000. The range-topping Elite trim level is available for around $47,000. The sales of the mid-size SUV will begin in the second half of 2023.
