2022 Ford EcoSport Additionally Updated Ahead its Arrival in the United States

The upcoming 2022 Ford EcoSport should go on sale later this year. This time, a small crossover will introduce more drastic changes. It is the second-gen EcoSport, produced in India and Romania. This model is available in India, Europe, Brazil, and even in the United States. Ford EcoSport is an affordable crossover, but its upper trim levels will provide a more premium interior and improved exterior design.

The subcompact segment is growing and Ford doesn’t want to miss an opportunity like this. Instead of building a brand-new crossover, EcoSport will reportedly get a more important role in the future. The EcoSport model will introduce some sort of a facelift, but the exterior redesign is still not on the cards.

2022 EcoSport Design Changes

New 2022 Ford EcoSport will remain a small crossover SUV with adorable styling and unique exterior paints. Reportedly, the new model will gain slimmer headlights so the front fascia will look more premium. The grille is also updated and the side profile will wear more pronounced lines. Thanks to that, the design is also sharper and improved aerodynamics will be easy to spot.

The rear section comes with more shiny trims, redesigned lower bumper, and new taillight graphics. Some parts are surprisingly muscular, while the body cladding remains as rugged as before. The final result is the EcoSport crossover with a more modern appearance.

Interior Updates

 On the inside, the 2022 Ford EcoSport will also host numerous updates. Again, we don’t expect to see any sort of interior redesign. However, Blue Oval will improve the level of luxury by adding more chrome accents and removing cheap plastic materials. The cabin layout remains intact, along with the seating configuration. The dashboard is slightly modified, just like the HVAC controls. We can’t confirm if Ford will introduce a larger infotainment touchscreen, but it is a very likely outcome.

The EcoSport crossover continues to offer a simple cabin with a cleaner center stack. The current model comes with a 4.2-inch display, and this has to be improved. The list of standard features is longer than before. Thanks to that, EcoSport will now offer a standard Wi-Fi hotspot, additional USB ports, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

What About Engine Specs?

The forthcoming 2022 Ford EcoSport will stick to its current engine options. We are talking about two powertrain choices where a 2.0-liter three-cylinder engine is standard. This unit is capable of producing 123 horsepower and it offers a standard front-wheel-drive system.

Optionally, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine develops 166 horsepower. The optional four-cylinder unit can be had with an all-wheel-drive setup and both engines will use the same six-speed automatic transmission.

2022 Ford EcoSport Release Date, Price

At this moment, we don’t know how much the 2022 Ford EcoSport will cost. We expect to see a small jump in price so the new model could start at about $21,000. The sales will begin this fall but this is not official. Ford could introduce its subcompact crossover SUV early in 2022 if the pandemic continues. As before, EcoSport will take on rivals such as Hyundai Venue, Kia Soul, and Nissan Kicks.
