2022 Nissan Rogue: Specs, Equipment, Price

Nissan redesigned its best-selling Rogue SUV for the 2021 model year and there is no much room for improvement for the next 2022 Nissan Rogue. The model should return with minimal changes in the equipment availability and with several new features. Nissan will also add new color and wheel options and there could be a new special edition version as well. No signs appeared that Nissan may introduce a new powertrain option.

A recently all-new Rogue rides on the new platform and goes on sale with a more potent powertrain. The compact-sized model gets attention with a new, bolder and more sculpted sheet metal and specific styling elements. The model’s cabin has many clever storage compartments and it uses better materials than the previous version. The Rogue riles also the brand’s newest infotainment platform and safety technologies.

The fast-selling Nissan Rogue challengers the class leaders such as the Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5 and VW Tiguan, Toyota RAV4, etc.

2022 Nissan Rogue: Design

The compact-sized Nissan Rogue switched to the new platform and design language for the recent redesign. The brand’s CMF-CD platform is highly modular and conceptually similar to VW’s MQB architecture. It consists of five interchangeable modules that allow being used for a broad range of models.

From the visual perspective, the recently redesigned SUV applies the brand’s newest design language and the next 2022 Nissan Rogue will return in the same form. The model will enter the new model year with new color and wheel options and there could be a new appearance package or special edition version.

The Rogue mixes the brand’s signature V-motion grille with two-layer headlights and a sport-style front bumper. The model features also more sculpted side paneling than the previous generation version.

The rear includes boomerang-style taillights mixed with a sculpted tailgate and chunky rear bumper.

The model will go on sale with various wheel styles ranging from 17 to 19 inches.

Interior, Equipment:

Coming after the recent redesign, the 2022 Nissan Rogue will return with the same in-cab design.

The newest Rogue has a highly functional cabin with many storage compartments and well-organized controls. The model offers up to 74.1 cubic feet for the cargo with the rear seats folded.

The dash features a two-layer design with curved contours. The model includes a standard 8-inch center screen sitting above physical controls. There is also a multifunctional steering wheel with an available 12.3-inch reconfigurable digital instrument cluster in front of it. The model offers also a large 10.8-inch head-up display in the top-grade versions.

The entry-level Rogue will go on sale with the cloth upholstery, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple Car Play and Android Auto, rear air vents, satellite radio, four speakers and Nissan’s Safety Shield. Every Rogue will come with lane departure warning, forward collision mitigation, rear automatic braking and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

The mid-range models will offer faux-leather upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry and ignition, Wi-Fi, surround-view cameras, etc.

The range-topping versions will employ a larger 9-inch touchscreen, leather upholstery mixed with attractive stitching and trim inserts, heated seats, wireless charging, digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, etc.

2022 Nissan Rogue: Powertrain

The redesigned, third-generation Rogue arrived with the new skin and underpinning but retained a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The engine is more powerful than before and mixed with a continuously variable transmission. The model will go on sale with standard front-wheel drive while all-wheel drive will be available on all trims.

The 2022 Nissan Rogue will rely on the 181-hp four-cylinder engine in all trims. The Rogue should get the hybrid version but it’s no clear yet when it will appear.

When it comes to the fuel economy, the 2022 Rogue should repeat the same numbers. The current, front-wheel-drive Rogue scored 27 mpg city and 35 highways on the EPA testing. The all-wheel-drive version should return 26 mpg city and 33 highways.

Thanks to the recent redesign and upgraded platform and suspension, the compact-sized Rogue drives better and with more confidence than the previous version. Reconfigured CVT and steering provide also a smoother driving feel. However, despite being more powerful, the model’s sole engine isn’t very responsive.

2022 Nissan Rogue: Release, Price

The 2022 Nissan Rogue will go on sale late in 2021. With no significant changes, the price should stay close to the current range. The base Rogue should start at about $25, 500. The top-grade model lifts the price to about $36, 500.
