The brand-new 2023 Chevy Tahoe SS is reportedly coming to the markets early next year. Tahoe is one of the last truck-based SUVs in the United States. It is a full-size model with so much to offer. It comes with a spacious interior with a room for seven and nine passengers. Tahoe model also has an impressive towing capacity and much more.

Chevrolet updated its SUV lineup, so all models are basically new. Therefore, Tahoe won’t get dramatic upgrades. However, the rumored Tahoe SS could be a significant improvement. The SS stands for “Super Sport”. Therefore, Tahoe could get a sportier version with more power. Unfortunately, this model is not official yet.

Engine Specs

At this stage, everything is a rumor. That also includes options under the hood of the 2024 Chevy Tahoe SS. As a high-performance and sportier model, the SS variant will produce more power than the base Tahoe version. Right now, the regular Tahoe SUV offers three powertrain choices. The base 5.3-liter V8 engine delivers 355 hp, while the optional 6.2-liter V8 generates 420 hp. There is also a 3.0-liter turbodiesel that is standard on the Z71 model.

The simplest solution is to borrow a supercharged engine from the Chevy Camaro model. It is a 6.2-liter V8 engine with a supercharger, and it produces 650 horsepower. Furthermore, it gets 650 lb-ft of torque, which is quite impressive. Of course, Tahoe and Camaro are completely different vehicles, so Tahoe SS will probably produce less power than that. Reportedly, the full-size Tahoe SS will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in around four seconds.

The all-new 2023 Chevy Tahoe SS is a full-size high-performance SUV. The Super Sport treatment is very famous in the automotive industry. Some rumors are saying that Chevrolet plans to give this treatment to some other models, including the Silverado pickup truck. The price of the new 2023 Chevy Tahoe SS would start at over $80,000. Right now, the base trim level costs slightly above $50k, while the range-topping High Country model costs $73,500. Of course, the SS Tahoe will add lots of premium materials inside the cabin. On top of that, Chevrolet will provide unique styling with a more aggressive approach and larger wheels. Add improved mechanics and a lot more, and you’ll get a quite expensive SUV.
