The next 2024 Jeep Renegade could gain one significant improvement in the future. Yes, a plug-in hybrid powertrain is reportedly on the way. This is not official, but it should be the only major update on the next model. Therefore, the rest of the Renegade SUV will remain intact. We expect a few minor visual updates and the interior will gain more equipment, per reports.
It is a small SUV that is on the roads for a decade. You can choose between numerous trim levels, including sportier Trailhawk and more premium Limited models. Generally, Jeep Renegade is a solid option in the small SUV segment, as it comes with affordable price, practicality, and reliability.
Since the current generation is relatively fresh, we don’t expect major updates. As a result, most reports believe that the 2024 Jeep Renegade will receive a minor cosmetic upgrade. That would most likely be a minor facelift, so the new Renegade will include innovations at the front fascia. Therefore, refreshed headlights, grille, and bumpers are a possibility.
The side profile will largely remain, and even the vehicle’s dimensions are unchanged. However, the rear section could receive more modest updates. Thanks to numerous trim levels, Renegade is suitable for anyone. We especially admire the Trailhawk trim level, which adds sportiness and off-road capabilities.
The upcoming 2024 Jeep Renegade will gain further interior updates. Jeep reportedly intends to deliver a new steering wheel, upgraded instrument cluster, and dashboard. The rest of the dashboard could get minor changes, but a new infotainment touchscreen will be offered. Apart from that, expect to see a new interior color scheme, additional standard features, and more safety aids.
The Renegade is spacious enough, offering room for five passengers and an admirable level of comfort. Right now, this model comes with a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, push-button start, and cloth upholstery. You can get more luxury via optional features or by choosing one of the range-topping trim levels.
Under the hood, this popular SUV will keep things intact. Therefore, the 2024 Jeep Renegade will continue to offer a 1.3-liter turbo-four gas engine with 177 hp and 210 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is available, which is good to hear. The Renegade model gets 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, and it comes with an optional AWD system.
On the other hand, many reports are predicting a plug-in hybrid version. If this happens, we expect a more efficient model with around 240 horsepower. This is far from official, although, it makes perfect sense. If the hybrid model doesn’t arrive, you can still opt for a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gas engine which produces 180 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque.
The price of the upcoming 2024 Jeep Renegade will not change. Thanks to that, you can get this SUV for about $30,000. As before, Renegade will continue to rival established models in the segment, including Mazda CX-30 and Honda HR-V. The sales will begin later this summer.
