The upcoming 2024 Toyota RAV4 is probably the last model in the current generation. This means the next-gen RAV4 is not so far away. As a result, we don’t expect a significant overhaul just yet. Instead, the carmaker will provide mild updates, reportedly. The RAV4 is one of the best-selling crossover SUVs in the world and Toyota will continue to provide refreshments.
The current model arrived with a new digital instrument cluster and new Woodland Edition. Now, the manufacturer will focus on styling. Of course, you should expect a couple of interior updates and improved safety ratings. Nothing will change under the hood, which isn’t a bad thing at all. The sales will begin next summer and here’s everything you need to know.
This will likely be the last production year for the current generation, Therefore, we don’t know yet if the 2024 Toyota RAV4 will introduce more than a mild facelift. New LED headlights, wheels, and other innovations were introduced in the 2022MY. The 2023MY introduced a new Woodland model with unique wheels and other exterior elements.
Reportedly, this crossover will gain a couple of exterior colors and minor visual upgrades. Mechanically, everything will remain intact. The chassis and suspension configuration of this crossover will not change, that’s for sure. Still, we hope to see at least a couple of novelties.
This SUV’s interior combines luxury and usefulness. The dashboard design is very straightforward, and the 2024 Toyota RAV4 will have more premium materials this time. Additionally, we expect to see additional standard equipment, especially in the high-tech department. The upper trim levels could gain new upholstery and maybe new interior color schemes will be on offer as well.
There will be room for five passengers and the cargo area is decent for the segment. A 7-inch infotainment screen will probably remain standard, along with the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto software. Similarly, RAV4 should offer the same optional features, including a larger display, Wi-Fi, panoramic sunroof, and more.
Under the hood, the new 2024 Toyota RAV4 will once again offer the same 2.5-liter gasoline engine. This unit is capable of producing slightly above 200 hp and it comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The fuel efficiency is great, with 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. However, Toyota also offers a hybrid variant that combines the same engine with electric motors.
It is the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid model that generates 220 horsepower. Unlike the standard powertrain option, this one is using a CVT transmission. More importantly, this version gets 41 mpg in the city, which is impressive. Lastly, the Toyota RAV4 Prime is a plug-in hybrid model with 308 horsepower and an all-electric range of 42 miles.
The price of the current RAV4 ranges from $27,000 to $44,000. We assume the all-new 2024 Toyota RAV4 will cost more than the outgoing model. Therefore, the new crossover will probably cost $1,000 more than before. The sales will begin next summer and we are still waiting for Toyota to reveal more official details.
