2022 Lexus LX 570: Replacement, Specs, Price

Lexus’ largest and most expensive LX 570 SUV has been on the roads without the full redesign since 2008 but received various upgrades during the lifecycle to keep it relevant. However, as the leaked report suggests that brand has a big plan for its SUV range until 2024 and all models should be reworked according to modern standards. The report indicates that the current Land Cruiser-based LX model should move further apart from the hard-core Toyota off-roader and become the brand’s new rival for the models such as the Bentley Bentayga. If that turns out to be true the model should not hit the market as the 2022 Lexus LX 570 rather under the LQ nameplate.

The replacement for the venerable LX 570 should be a new more dynamically styled model with the mighty twin-turbo V-6 engine under the hood or optional hybrid setup.  The model could get a high-performance F version with 600+ hp at disposal. Lexus will treat the model’s interior with the premium materials and latest in-car technologies.

2022 Lexus LX 570: Design

While the current, full-size LX 570 shares the frame and construction with the off-road-ready Toyota Land Cruiser its replacement should use a car-like underpinning borrowed from the LS sedan. The new architecture will improve the model’s on-ride manners and dynamics at the expense of the off-road capability. Thanks to the new platform, the model will also benefit from the latest in-car and powertrain technologies.

From the design point, the new model should get inspiration from the modern-looking LF-1 Limitless Concept. The replacement of 2022 Lexus LX 570 should switch from the boxy-style, upright stance to a more dynamically shaped figure. A massive spindle grille will again dominate the model’s front end accompanied by the new headlights with the L-shaped motif.

The model will also come with a long more elegant hood and sleeker front bumper. The profile paneling will be more dynamic with pronounced character line, fender flares and fastback roofline.

The rear should also feature more sport-style cues including a sculpted tailgate, more raked rear pillar, sportier bumper and possibly full-width taillights.

Interior, Equipment:

Lexus is known for its beautifully crafted and well-equipped cabins. The 2022 Lexus LX 570 replacement should do it even better.

The model will come with the redesigned dash employing likely a massive 12.3-inch center touchscreen with a touchpad controller. Three will also be a new digital instrument cluster. The dash shape will feature similar design cues as the LC and LS.

The Lexus LQ will also use high-quality, soft-touch materials from the base version. Every version will also offer a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats and more. There will also be premium options such as richer leather, massaging front seats, heated rear seats, rear-seat entertainment, premium sound system and more. The base equipment will also include active safety systems eventually with some level of self-driving capability. What is sure, there will be systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and automatic emergency braking.

2022 Lexus LX 570: Performance

The all-new Lexus LQ will use the LS sedan-based platform and should also share the same powertrains. The new car-like underpinning will guarantee a more composed on-road ride than the current, truck-based LX 570.

The 2022 Lexus LX 570 replacement will also ditch the current 5.7-liter V-8 engine and employ a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V-6 good for 416 hp. A new engine should come paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. There should also be an alternative hybrid version combining a 3.5-liter V-6 engine and two electric motors with an output of around 354 hp. The hybrid version should use a continuously variable transmission.

As the report also indicates, there could also be a high-performance F version with a 600+ hp output.

2022 Lexus LX 570: Release, Price

The all-new LQ-badged Lexus could come as the replacement for the 2022 Lexus LX 570 with the starting price at $80, 000. The LQ should appear in 2022.

What is sure the all-new LQ will appear soon but there are also reports suggesting it won’t replace any existing model. So, there is a possibility that the 2022 Lexus LX 570 appears in the same form as the current version.

The current Lexus LX is an alternative to the models such as the Mercedes GLS, Cadillac Escalade, Infiniti QX80, etc. If the LQ-badged Lexus replaces the Land Cruiser-based model it will rival the Bentley Bentayga and similar Audi and Mercedes models.
