2023 BMW X1 Leaked Ahead of World Premiere

The 2023 BMW X1 has been spied for the last time before this small SUV goes on sale. The premier will happen in the coming weeks, so we are looking at the spied prototype one more time. This time, the X1 model wears slightly less camouflage. It is the production model, per source. The spied X1 was doing road tests with the combustion engine, although the all-electric variant is on the way.

The subcompact crossover SUV will once again come with a standard FWD system, but this time, the new model will gain some important upgrades. The sales will begin later this summer, and here is everything we know about it.

BMW X1 Spy Shots

The fresh spy images of the 2023 BMW X1 appear to validate the increase in size since it appears to be nearly as long as the current X3. BMW tries to cover the flatter door handles with white stickers that replicate the design of the company’s previous handles.

Although the kidneys are undeniably huge, BMW has demonstrated that the grille maybe even larger. Despite the heavy camo, the headlights appear to be thinner while maintaining the traditional sweptback appearance. The sleeker taillights have been placed on a diet for the redesigned X1, and it’s the same situation at the back.

Interior Upgrades

Although the interior of the prototype has not been seen, we do not expect any surprises because the 2023 BMW X1 should have a dashboard that is similar to that of the new BMW models. Because it’s a crossover rather than a minivan, BMW may tweak it here and there, but nothing big. Because the iDrive 8 is standard, expect a 10.25-inch driver’s display and a 10.7-inch touchscreen to match the family model.

The latest dimensional changes will provide additional interior room, mostly passenger legroom and cargo area. There will be room for five passengers and the X1 model will provide a premium cabin design.

Engine Options

If the most recent reports are correct, the new 2023 BMW X1 will provide numerous powertrain options. That includes a base gasoline engine, along with the mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, all-electric and high-performance variants. On the other hand, not all of the engines will be available upon launch. That mostly includes the high-performance M model that will arrive later this year.

A 2.0-liter turbo-four remains a standard engine option with 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. BMW continues to offer an eight-speed automatic transmission. The all-electric iX1 will provide around 250 miles of driving range on a single charge.

2023 BMW X1 Release Date, Price

The upcoming 2023 BMW X1 will make its debut next week. However, BMW will make the world premiere on social media. The price will start at around $36,000, while the iX1 electric model will cost over $50,000. The sales will officially begin this summer.
