The forthcoming 2023 Mazda CX-90 has been revealed last year, and it will go on sale later this year. This model is expected to share many design characteristics with the CX-9, featuring beautiful aesthetics and a comfortable cabin. Along with this model, Mazda will also release the CX-50 and CX70 versions. The three-row CX-90, like the two-row CX-50, will be available with RWD and AWD systems.
There are multiple six-cylinder powertrains available. A plug-in hybrid version is also being considered. On the other hand, the price is a total mystery right now. Given that it will be Mazda’s new flagship model, replacing the outdated CX-9, expect it to be prohibitively expensive.
The 2023 Mazda CX-90 will follow the design language of the previously revealed CX-50 model. According to Mazda, the size and capacity of all next CX models will be the most significant differences. The Mazda CX-90 is the largest SUV, and we assume it to have the same recognizable grille as the CX-50 model that was recently shown.
Mazda will, as far as we know, make the KODO design language’s spirit more appealing by using considerably smaller headlamps and a more attractive grille. The design of the next Mazda CX-50 and CX-90, according to leaked photos, will be visually identical.
The brand-new 2023 Mazda CX-90 will undoubtedly offer more cabin space than the CX-9 SUV. The next flagship SUV will be more modern, but the three-row seating arrangement will remain the same. In any case, expect the new model to provide a higher level of comfort and amenities through trim levels. According to our sources, the manufacturer will upgrade the cabin and include significantly more standard equipment than the CX-9 variant.
As a result, we’re expecting a new infotainment system, the latest phone connectivity, and additional safety aids. The upper trim levels will provide more luxury, including heated seats, leather upholstery, Wi-Fi, and much more.
Like the CX-70, the new 2023 Mazda CX-90 will debut the new platform, with turbo-six gasoline engines available in the United States. Furthermore, this chassis is based on the RWD system. Both models will, according to several rumors, be available with plug-in hybrid powertrains.
Mazda will offer new Skyactiv-X and Skyactiv-D gasoline and diesel engines, as well as a four-cylinder petrol variant, which is also expected to be available. Engine specifications will vary by market. Mazda also plans to sell a mild-hybrid system in Europe, while a straight-six diesel engine with mild-hybrid technology will be available in Asia.
As we said in the beginning, the price of the 2023 Mazda CX-90 remains a complete mystery. A couple of reliable sources are predicting the price of around $35,000, but this is far from official. The sales will begin later in 2022 and we are hoping to hear more details in the following weeks.
