2023 Tesla Model Y Gets a Couple of Changes

The upcoming 2023 Tesla Model Y will be available in showrooms later this year. This all-electric SUV will receive a few upgrades. According to reports, the new model will have a different appearance and may have a shorter electric driving range.

Aside from that, this SUV is noted for its futuristic cabin, which can accommodate up to seven passengers. The third row of seats is available to those who purchase the Long-Range model but only for an additional fee. Let’s take a look at all the crucial details for the 2023MY now.

Tesla Model Y Driving Range and Acceleration

The next 2023 Tesla Model Y will come with two electric motors and an optional AWD system. The Long-Range variant will feature a 314-mile range and a 0-60 mph acceleration of around 4.8 seconds this time. This is essentially a downgrade, as the current Model Y has a range of 318 miles. We’re not sure why this happened, but it’s a little setback.

A Performance model is also available, which reduces the vehicle’s range to 303 miles. It has stronger acceleration, however, and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. The Long Range variant will produce 447 hp and the Performance version 580 hp.

Interior Upgrades

The interior of the forthcoming 2023 Tesla Model Y will be similar to the one we have now. This SUV has the same elegant cabin design and high-quality leather materials as previously. The seats are really comfortable and supportive. At most, seven passengers will be accommodated. Furthermore, Tesla’s interior is quite quiet, making the journey very enjoyable.

As previously stated, the Long-Range variant has a third row of seats. The seats behind them are really cramped. When the seats are folded, the maximum amount of room in the back is a little less than 70 cubic feet. A 15-inch touchscreen is available and Tesla will reportedly upgrade the current infotainment system.

Facelift

The new 2023 Tesla Model Y has a similar design to the Model 3 fastback sedan. According to what we know, this SUV will feature sleek body lines, modern wheels, and the same sloping roofline as the previous model. Depending on which trim level you choose, the design of this model will alter slightly.

Lowering the suspension and installing larger wheels and a carbon fiber rear spoiler, for example, might make your Model Y SUV look incredibly sporty. Tesla’s Model Y will remain unchanged in terms of size. The platform will remain the same, but new exterior paints and possibly additional optional packages are expected.

2023 Tesla Model Y Price, Release Date

The price of the base 2023 Tesla Model Y will start at around $61,000, which is the model with the longest driving range. The Performance variant will cost around $65,000. The third row is optional, along with the tow hitch and Tesla’s self-driving mode. This model adds $10,000 to the existing price. The sales will begin later in 2022, although we don’t know the official launch date.
