2023 Mitsubishi Outlander: PHEV, Release Date

Mitsubishi has teased the new Outlander SUV ahead of its official unveiling. The new 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander seems updated, and Mitsubishi has promised a slew of changes and enhancements. By and large, the PHEV variant should appear identical to the gasoline-powered counterpart. It will have a new engine badge and a few modest aesthetic changes. Regrettably, no technical information is available at this time.

The most exciting news is that Mitsubishi has revealed the next-generation Outlander PHEV, which will go on sale in Japan later this year. However, the United States version will have to wait until the second half of 2022.

2023 Outlander Design

The new teaser picture for the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander highlights several enhancements to the new SUV. To begin, the design language will stay mostly unchanged, with modest tweaks and new chassis.

The photos are here, and it seems like the complete attention is on the PHEV variant and a beautiful rear end. The new taillights are visible, and they are noticeably slimmer than the previous ones. The charging port is located on the side, as is the black flare fender. Additionally, we anticipate a makeover of the front fascia, which will include a new hood, grille, and headlights.

Interior Upgrades

As for the cabin updates, we don’t anticipate any substantial changes over the existing model. Naturally, the manufacturer will attempt to improve level comfort by adding additional materials and devices. The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander has three rows of seats and a maximum seating capacity of seven passengers.

Additionally, the Outlander with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch center touchscreen are on offer. Additionally, wireless smartphone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are available, as is a 10.8-inch head-up display. This SUV provides semi-aniline leather upholstery, and a 10-speaker Bose audio system, an updated navigation system. Additionally, we should anticipate increased driver assistance features and a significantly higher safety rating.

Outlander Hybrid Specs

The upcoming 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander will be powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain. This version will almost certainly be powered by a gasoline engine producing 126 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. When combined with the electric motor, this unit should provide at least 220 horsepower. This means the electric motor adds around 30 additional horses.

The latest reports are predicting the battery pack from 12.0 kWh to 13.8 kWh. As a result, this SUV will have a 24-mile all-electric driving range. Regarding fuel economy, many anticipate 74 MPGe and 26 mpg. In any event, the all-new Outlander PHEV will be far more powerful than the previous model.

2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Price and Release Date

New 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV is expected to arrive in Japan in the second part of this year. However, purchasers in the United States will have to wait until mid-2022. Many predict this SUV will be the company’s next top seller, and the base model should start just below $40,000.
