2022 Chevy Suburban Spied With Numerous Updates

The forthcoming 2022 Chevy Suburban will hit the dealerships later this year. First spy photos are available so we know some of the changes that will happen. Suburban is a very popular family SUV. The full-size model comes with a room for nine passengers and a class-leading cargo area. On top of that, Suburban offers both gasoline and diesel engine options.

There will be six trim levels so it is a perfect family-friendly model. The price is far from affordable, but this is a very luxury SUV. Some changes are about to happen, so without further ado, here’s everything we know.

2022 Suburban Spy Shots

As we said, the first spy photos of the 2022 Chevy Suburban are available. Some exterior upgrades are easy to notice. However, we don’t expect a significant redesign to happen. Instead, Chevy will deliver another mid-cycle facelift. Suburban is a truck-based SUV with full-size dimensions. Its platform is shared with models such as Cadillac Escalade and GMC Yukon. It is a T1XX architecture that also comes with an independent rear suspension.

The 2022MY will gain more lightweight materials, but Suburban’s rugged presence remains. Chevrolet won’t deliver any sort of dimensional changes. Design-wise, Suburban comes with small modifications up front and the rear section will gain reshaped taillights. LED lighting setup, roof rails, and a power liftgate are all standard. The free-gesture liftgate will be optional once again.

Interior Updates

On the inside, the 2022 Chevy Suburban will gain the same treatment. Changes are not so drastic, but some updates are about to happen. For a start, this full-size SUV will gain more standard features. Comfort will be better and we expect to see an updated infotainment system.

Diesel and Gasoline Engine Specs

Nothing will change under the hood, so the 2022 Chevy Suburban will once again offer two engine options. This SUV comes with both gasoline and diesel engines, which is great. 5.3-liter V8 gasoline is a standard unit and it develops 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission could be replaced with a new 10-speed automatic gearbox.

If you want a diesel, an optional 3.0-liter Duramax engine is capable of producing 277 hp and up to 460 lb-ft of twisting power. Lastly, the Suburban RST variant is using a larger 6.2-liter V8 that generates 420 horses. The base engine delivers around 19 mpg combined, which is not bad for such a big and powerful SUV.

2022 Chevy Suburban Launch Date, Price

The all-new 2022 Chevy Suburban will now cost around $52,500. It is a small price increase, but nothing dramatic. As we said, this isn’t an affordable SUV. Whatsoever, the Premier trim level will cost almost $70,000. Chevrolet will launch its Suburban model at some point during the second half of the year.
