2023 Lexus NX Review

The next 2023 Lexus NX will arrive with minor updates only. If you didn’t know, the 2022MY arrived with a complete redesign. Therefore, this compact SUV will be a carryover. Lexus could add a couple of subtle tweaks, but nothing dramatic will happen. The NX slots below the mid-size RX model and it comes with a sharp exterior design. Moreover, this model is full of premium stuff, a lot of standard features, and much more.

We think the price is affordable, as the Lexus NX model provides a very elegant cabin and good performance. Under the hood, Lexus provides a variety of engines. The base NX 250 is a more fuel-efficient variant, while the NX 350 provides more power and a standard AWD system. There is also the NX350h with an efficient hybrid powertrain. Lastly, you can also get the NX 450h+ with a plug-in hybrid system.

Lexus NX Exterior Design

As we said, the 2022MY introduced an exterior redesign. Thanks to that, the 2023 Lexus NX will arrive with minor changes or no changes at all. The styling is very distinctive, especially the sharper front fascia with a larger grille. The NX is a compact SUV, but it is not an adorable model. It looks more aggressive than most of the SUVs in the segment. The rear section comes with the LEXUS script in the center of the tailgate.

We think the taillights are better than ever before, running across the whole width of the SUV. Lexus will continue to offer unique exterior colors and cool optional features. The F Sport trim level comes with larger 21-inch gloss-black wheels and bolder bumpers. This version looks sportier, and it also comes with a different set of colors and black roof rails.

Interior Updates

A similar thing will happen inside the cabin, as the 2023 Lexus NX will only receive small updates. For a start, the 2022MY introduced new touchscreens and a new interior design. This is an important upgrade as the previous Remote Touch system was very confusing.

Now, the NX SUV provides a 9.8-inch touchscreen. Optionally, you can get a larger 14-inch unit with Drive Connect services. The cabin is very elegant and Lexus also delivers a lot of luxury. You can get a 10-inch head-up display, a beautiful ambient lighting system, and a panoramic moonroof.

Hybrid Powertrain Provides Astonishing MPG

Under the hood, the 2023 Lexus NX provides numerous engine options. The base NX model comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 203 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. A 2.4-liter turbo-four engine with 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque is available in the NX 350 variant. Both units are using an eight-speed automatic transmission.

On the other hand, you can also get a hybrid powertrain. The NX 350h model comes with a 2.5-liter hybrid setup, developing 240 hp and offering 33 mpg combined. The best-possible choice is the NX 450h+ with plug-in hybrid technology and a standard CVT automatic transmission. This variant offers 302 horsepower and it also gets 37 mpg combined.

2023 Lexus NX Release Date, Price

The forthcoming 2023 Lexus NX retains the current price and will start at $38,000. On the other hand, the NX 450h+ model will set you at $56,000. This compact SUV will hit the dealerships later this summer, unfortunately, with minor updates.
