The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV is an all-electric remake of one of the last century’s most iconic, tough off-road models. Although the Hummer brand is now owned by GMC, its distinct style and exceptional off-road capability are faithfully maintained in EV shape. Indeed, the latter will arguably be much more spectacular due to the SUV’s sophisticated technologies, amazing power performance, and revolutionary features, such as a four-wheel drive, which allows the much-touted crab mode.
The most intriguing feature of the reimagined Hummer is its Ultium battery pack, which offers short charging times and a larger battery pack comes with an approximate range of 300 miles or more. Logically, the SUV will borrow a lot of stuff from the Hummer EV Truck variant.
The upcoming 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV will borrow the powertrain from the Hummer truck. The SUV variant will deploy two or even three electric motors. The dual-motor setup will be offered as standard and this SUV will produce around 625 horsepower. As for the three-motor version, GMC claimed 830 horses, which is simply astonishing.
We don’t know why the torque figures are misleading, but the manufacturer estimates 7400 and 11,500 lb-ft of torque. Instead, many experts are predicting up to 1000 lb-ft of torque for the most powerful output. The Hummer EV SUV will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, approximately.
As we mentioned before, the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV will use a new Ultium battery technology. According to the manufacturer, this battery pack is more eco-friendly and will provide an astonishing driving range.
The dual-motor variant comes with a standard 400-volt electric system, while a three-motor setup comes with an 800-volt system. The Hummer EV SUV should use a 200-kWh battery pack and it will provide over 300 miles of driving range. Fast-charging is possible but charging time is still a mystery.
Again, the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV will look like the Hummer EV Truck. Logically, the SUV comes in a different shape and different dimensions, but the design language is basically the same. The SUV also comes with a shorter wheelbase, 126.7 inches to be precise. On the other hand, the truck variant offers 135.6 inches long wheelbase. The manufacturer will provide a lot of off-road equipment and unique driving modes.
On the inside, Hummer EV SUV looks futuristic. It offers a three-dimensional dashboard with both horizontal and vertical air vents. A pair of large displays are standard, including a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The materials are top-quality and generally, the whole cabin is very premium and upright. A removable roof is on offer and this SUV provides 82 cubic feet of cargo room.
The price of the brand-new 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV will start at around $80,000. The range-topping variant will cost above $100,000. The sales will begin in early 2023, according to multiple sources. However, we don’t know yet when the reservations will begin.
