2022 Kia Telluride Will Introduce First Facelift Ever

The upcoming 2022 Kia Telluride is ready for its first mid-cycle facelift. This SUV made its debut for the 2020 model year. Thanks to that, everything about this model is almost brand-new. Telluride became an instant hit and now this three-row SUV is ready for its first upgrades. On the other hand, changes are not so dramatic, which is perfectly reasonable.

The sales are good, but Kia will try to build on that. We expect to see more standard features, minor cosmetic upgrades, and some other refreshments. Under the hood, the same V6 gasoline engine will be available once again. This SUV will hit the markets later this year.

2022 Telluride Facelift

Since the Telluride SUV is still looking fresh, changes are not so significant. Thanks to that, the new 2022 Kia Telluride will introduce minor visual updates. Telluride is a recognizable SUV with a modern design and somewhat rugged appearance. Its boxy shape remains, just like a longer hood and wide grille. The styling is easy to recognize but the new model will look slightly bolder.

The headlights will offer a more distinctive look, but the grille will remain intact. The side profile will gain sharper lines and the rear section will only introduce a slightly bolder bumper. Besides that, we don’t expect any sort of exterior improvements. New exterior paints are a possibility, but Kia will probably offer the same color palette.

Interior Improvements

On the inside, the new 2022 Kia Telluride will gain more features. Some high-tech amenities will be standard, but new ones are optional in the base trim level. Telluride offers generous interior space with a room for eight passengers. This means the three-row seating layout remains. The design will slightly change, or we should say the build quality is better than before.

The base trim level offers an 8-inch touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The infotainment system is up to date and we expect to see new safety aids. Upper trim levels are offering leather seats and a larger 10.3-inch display.

Engine Specs

The forthcoming 2022 Kia Telluride will once again ride on a proven V6 engine. It is a gasoline engine that generates 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. Some reports are suggesting a small boost in terms of power, but this is not confirmed yet. On top of that, Kia will improve fuel economy ratings.

The manufacturer offers an eight-speed automatic transmission once again, and the FWD system comes as standard. An AWD setup is optional and Telluride will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds. The Telluride SUV offers eight inches of ground clearance, so it is a solid off-road model. This SUV offers 5,000 pounds of towing capacity, which is good.

2022 Kia Telluride Release Date, Price

As for the price, all-new 2022 Kia Telluride will start at around $33,000. Major changes still won’t happen, and we don’t know when Kia plans to introduce the next-gen model. For sure, the first-gen Telluride will ride for another two or three years. The sales will begin later this year, possibly in the fall.
