2023 Land Rover Range Rover PHEV Will Provide 48 Miles of Range

The forthcoming 2023 Land Rover Range Rover PHEV model is getting serious improvements after all. The 2022MY arrived with a redesign and this current model also introduce improvements in terms of performance. However, the 2023 Range Rover will be even better as the hybrid powertrain is about to arrive with drastic upgrades.

This SUV sits on a relatively new platform which provides the better off-road capability and more pleasant ride quality. Moreover, Range Rover now also offers a three-row interior layout. Now, the time is to introduce an improved hybrid variant. This version will deliver higher efficiency, more power, and much more. Without further ado, here’s everything we know so far.

Land Rover Range Rover PHEV Specs

The new 2023 Land Rover Range Rover PHEV will provide astonishing performances. It is a combination of a six-cylinder engine and a 105-kilowatt electric motor. This output provides an astonishing 434 horsepower. A 38.2kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack is also on offer. Thanks to that, the new Range Rover PHEV will provide an all-electric driving range of 48 miles.

That is another astonishing figure. To compare, the current Range Rover PHEV provides 19 miles of driving range. Reportedly, the all-electric Range Rover will go on sale at some point in 2024. Of course, this is not official yet.

Charging Time and Driving Range

In addition to having a longer range, the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover PHEV has a 50-kW DC fast charge. DC is a feature usually found only in fully electric models. It lets drivers use public charging stations. Land Rover says the new Range Rover PHEV can charge 80 percent of its battery in less than an hour.

This is one of the few other PHEVs that can charge 80 percent of its range in 25 minutes. For an instance, Mitsubishi Outlander can charge 80% in 25 minutes as well. However, Outlander PHEV provides 24 miles of driving range.

Competition & Price

There are a lot of plug-in hybrid SUVs at the moment. However, only a few of them are as premium as the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover PHEV model. Because of that, the number of competitors is limited. The biggest rivals are Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid and BMW X5 xDrive45e. Moreover, there is also the Volvo XC90 Recharge model. All these models are luxurious and are far from affordable.

The XC90 Recharge provides an 18-mile driving range and it costs $66,000. The Porsche Cayenne delivers 17 miles of range and it costs $85,000. Lastly, BMW X5 xDrive45e costs $65,000 and it gets 31 miles on fully electric power. As for the Range Rover PHEV, its P440e extended-range PHEV version costs up to $107,000.

Land Rover Range Rover PHEV Release Date

The upcoming 2023 Land Rover Range Rover PHEV model will hit the dealerships later in 2022. Many reports are saying this premium SUV will go on sale in October, although this is not official yet. As we mentioned, the all-electric Range Rover model will arrive at some point in 2024.
